California-based tech company Apple can launch the iPhone 14 series in September this year. Some features and leaks related to the new models are already coming out.

Now a new report has claimed that Apple may offer satellite communication connectivity with the iPhone 14, with which users will be able to make calls and send messages even without cellular coverage. This feature can prove to be helpful in an emergency.

New feature can also be found in Apple Watch: Apart from the iPhone 14 series devices, the company can also provide satellite connectivity in Apple Watch. The new option will work with the LEO (Low-Earth Orbit) Satellite Communication System.

However, Apple devices will not offer the option of calling anywhere in the world like satellite phones without cellular coverage.

Let us tell you, the company has not made any announcement regarding the new feature and has not said anything.

Will get emergency message via contact feature: Apple may include an 'Emergency Message via Contacts' feature on its devices, which will allow users to seek help from emergency services in case a cellular network is not available.

This can be done with the help of satellite network. The new feature will not be available in all markets and its working method may be different in different markets. The company was earlier working on such a feature for the iPhone 13.

Hardware optimization required for new feature: Calling using satellite network may become smooth and easy in future but it is not so now. For this, powerful hardware will be required, which is not ready yet and the cost involved is also high.

In addition, providing satellite communication features could lead to conflicts between Apple and existing mobile carriers. It is possible that Apple's new feature will take several years to be fully developed.

Satellite connectivity feature will have some limitations: Due to the slow process of satellite communication, it may take up to a minute or two for the signal sent with the iPhone 13 to be received.

Apart from this, it will be necessary for the user sending the signal to stay under the open sky, so that the LEO satellite communication feature can work well.

With the new feature, short emergency texts will be sent, users will be able to send SOS distress signals and both the new options will be available in i-message.

iPhone 14 will have such specifications: According to leaks, all new iPhone models this year could come with 6GB of RAM. While the high-end Pro models will get upgraded LPDDR5 memory, the standard models will get the LPDDR4X memory found in the iPhone 13 series.

The company may launch the iPhone 14 Max with a 6.7-inch display, which will be the first non-Pro model to come with a Pro size display. Also, Apple is discontinuing the Mini model with a 5.4-inch display.

Previous reports have revealed that not all models of the iPhone 14 series will get the latest A16 Bionic chip. If leaks are to be believed, Apple will use the new A16 chip in the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max only.
